Bloomsburg Loses to Kutztown in Women's Basketball

KUTZTOWN--The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team lost to Kutztown University, 60-47, Wednesday night in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division matchup.
With the Huskies trailing by a point, 13-12, seven minutes into the game, the Golden Bears took control of the game with a 17-5 run over the next seven minutes of action. Leading the charge for Kutztown was Mercedes Van Wagner with six points.
Kutztown stretched its lead to 17 points at halftime, then saw the Huskies rally and trim the deficit to 10 points, 40-30, with 13 minutes to play in the game with Colleen Kegerreis (Schuylkill Haven/Schuylkill Haven) getting six points in the run. That would be, though, as close as the Huskies would get as the Golden Bears maintained a 14-16 lead the rest of the game.
Kegerreis led Bloomsburg, 5-17, 2-6 PSAC East, with 12 points, while Jamie Kauczka (Kingston/Wyoming Valley West) added 10 points and eight rebounds.
Kutztown, 15-7, 7-1 PSAC East, got 13 points from Trish Dudeck and 12 points from Van Wagner.
The Huskies host Cheyney on Saturday night at 5:30 p.m. in their next game.
